Excellence in Academic Research and Strategic Specialization

The main roles of university may be defined as twofold. One is an educational function to teach students practical knowledge, and the other is a research function to seek for truth. Strong research activity is a vital element for a better university and higher quality of education.

Since the early 1960's, with the goal of achieving excellence in professional research, the Division of Research Management has carried out research support work for faculty members, and managed and allocated research funds. In addition, the division tries to assist research institutes to develop their own specialized expertise, and in this regard three strategic research institutes have been launched recently to entice large-scale government projects.
